Mapping Dreams Across the World

When I was in Stockholm at the end of last year, I was lucky enough to stumble upon an artwork by Eva Frapiccini

Set up outside the Arkitekturmuseet, the artist invited passers-by to take their time to share their dream from the night before or a dream with particularly striking imagery, inside her inflatable room with a tape recorder.

She travels the world with her inflatable structure in a suitcase, collecting an archive of dreams in many different languages from people across the world.

These dreams will be preserved and reopened in 10 years time, analysed by professionals and sent back to their owner - a study on the collective unconscious, and Jung’s idea of shared archetypes across the world.
